NOTRE DAME UPSETS #3 MICHIGAN 17-10

PLAY LIKE A CHAMPION!

Well, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, and particularly their young, inexperienced defensive unit, damn sure played like champions today in Michigan's "Big House" where 112,000 college football fans sat stunned while The Irish upended the nation's #3-ranked team.

Notre Dame's new head football coach, Charlie Weis, the former Offensive Coordinator for the New England Patriots, is making believers out of a sceptical sports media and hard-nosed college football fans across the country who had long since declared the football program in South Bend dead as Dicken's Jacob Marley.

This was the 33rd meeting of the two storied programs -- the winningest teams in college football history. Their first encounter was in 1887. And Charlie Weis is now the first Notre Dame head coach to win two consecutive openers on the road (they beat Pittsburgh last week) since the Knute Rockne era!

GO IRISH !!!
