STATE REP. RUSSELL PEARCE (R-AZ) : "WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE ... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

On August 14th, I published this post and made the following observation:

Is it me or is the noise level building nationally at the local and state level that it's high time to quit the waiting game for President George Bush and the Republican-controlled Congress to do something about this nation's porous borders and run-away illegal immigration and to take matters into the hands of the people closest to the action and experiencing firsthand the crush of an illegal immigrant population that is conservatively estimated at 11 million?
Well, here's yet another indication that illegal immigration issues have reached a boil at the state and local levels. On the heels of Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano taking a page out of New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson's playbook by declaring a "State of Emergency" in four counties in her state plagued by the effects of illegal immigration, State Representative Russell Pearce has declared he's fed up and wants the Republican majority in the state legislature to introduce and pass a bill appropriating funds for a climb-resistant fence along the Arizona-Mexico border to be built on both public and private property at taxpayers' expense.

Napolitano and Richardson, I should add, are Democrats and politicians who in the past have abetted more than curtailed illegal immigration. That is telling.
