As promised, Dear Readers, and further to this post and this post, I have received information this afternoon from a senior reporter at the "Houston Chronicle" indicating that the investigation of Ernest Naquin, father of slain Houston toddler Aiden Naquin, remains ongoing.

It had been reported that Ernest Naquin may have illegally sold the drug Xanax to the wife of an MS-13 gang member the same night -- April 12th -- that his son was slain. The killing itself of the little boy, who was strapped into a child's car seat in the backseat of his father's automobile, may have been the result of a botched robbery attempt by MS-13 gang members to recover the money given Earnest Naquin for the Xanax. The alleged shooter, Miguel Angel Castro, 19, has been apprehended and is awaiting trial.

According to the reporter who communicated with me, Ernest Naquin has not been charged at this point with any crime associated with an illegal drug transaction that night that may have been the underlying cause of his son's death.

I'll continue to track this case.
