Pope John Paul II, still hospitalized, but strong enough to appear at an open window of the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome, where he's been recovering from a health crisis brought on by a bad bout of the flu and complicated by Parkinson's disease, issued a strong statement Sunday decrying abortion.

The 84 year old Pontiff urged people to trust in the life that children who are not yet born silently cry out for.

Undoubtedly near the end of his own life, the weakened, venerable leader of the Roman Catholic Church continues to fight for the unprotected innocents and against their executioners -- the worldwide abortion industry.

Our prayers continue for his recovery. He's a most remarkable man and his life's story is an inspiration.
