JOHN PAUL II REMAINS IN FRAIL HEALTH

That the Pontiff was unable to lead the Ash Wednesday prayers is cause for great concern, as he's never failed to do so in his 26-year papacy. There have been suggestions out of Rome that Pope John Paul II may choose to step down because of failing health. The greater concern for Catholics the world over is that the Pope is truly able to recover from this most recent health crisis, as despite recurring assurances that he is improving day by day, one wonders. The thoughts and prayers of this writer are with this blessed man.
