You know, they say if one were to go far enough in either direction of the political spectrum that eventually the Left and Right would meet on common ground. I don't know who came up with that theory, but I don't subscribe to it.

Regardless, Betsy Newmark points to what she terms a historical nugget in discovering that FDR, like Bush '43, felt that a portion of Social Security (the program he launched during the Great Depression of the 30s) ought to include voluntary contributory annuities. Now doesn't that take all!
