"WE WEEP AND MOURN WHEN SOLDIERS LOSE THEIR LIFE" (BUSH)

What must be the toll on President Bush over time with the mounting casualties and all the finger-pointing scorn of which he's become the object? This kind of news, in particular, must torture him. We'll never quite plumb the depths of his burdens, just as his contemporaries couldn't have understood Lincoln's torment. We need to remember the president in our prayers.
