MORE ON SMUGGLING STORY OUT OF SAN ANTONIO

The four Chinese nationals onboard the Cessna 172-P that was forced by federal officials to land in San Antonio, Texas, are being detained for questioning, as is the pilot, whose identity hasn't been made available to the public.

What's also not been reported at this juncture is what precisely the FAA, FBI and Department of Homeland Security did when the 3-year registration on the plane elapsed in 2002 and subsequent renewal forms mailed to its co-owner, Afzal Hameed of Dover, Delaware, were not completed and returned to the FAA. Furthermore, do officials even know where Hameed is?
