MOORE'S GAMBIT BACKFIRES (IT'S A GOOD DAY!)

Michael Moore's gambit to remove his pseudo-documentary (we all know the name of it by now) from the legitimate documentary category of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences' Oscar Awards has backfired. Moore's stratagem was to garner a "Best Picture" nomination. Had that happened, there would have been a serious credibility gap among movie-going red-staters. No doubt there's some handwringing this morning in the ranks of Democratic Party operatives, who had made Moore their DNC Chairman Without Portfolio during the 2004 presidential race. Jimmy Carter may be moved to write a poem about this perceived rebuff from the Hollywood community.
