IS A BLOG IN YOUR FY2005 BUSINESS PLAN?

My daughter-in-law forwarded this interesting article to me which makes a compelling case (as does Hugh Hewitt in his newly-published book, Blog) for companies establishing their own blogs to enhance their marketing programs and public relations efforts. Hugh, I should add, further makes a case for blogs and blogging savvy as "defensive measures" to enable companies to fend off or mitigate damaging (sometimes "catastrophic") "blog swarms" (see Chapter #7 in his book).

I'm presently a little more than halfway through Hewitt's book this weekend and enjoying it immensely. The insights he provides on this "new medium" are first-rate.
